Kahina Handira Pillow
This product is unavailable
Beautiful handmade pillow made from vintage Moroccan Handira, or wedding blankets. These wool pillows are handwoven by Berber women in the Middle Atlas mountains of Northern Morocco. The bride and her female relatives weave these blankets and sew the thousands of sequins on in preparation for the wedding where the bride will then wear the blanket as a cape.
"Kahina" is a common name in Tamazight, the language of the Berber people, meaning "the diviner or fortuneteller".
- Measures 26'' x 26''
