Hassan Beluch Rug

One of kind 1970's vintage tribal beluch rug from Pakistan. This piece was brought from Pakistan to Turkey with a nomadic tribal family. The Dom design, meaning "entrance to paradise"  was woven with 100% wool, vibrantly dyed with 100% vegetable dyes and finished with a flat weave. This particular rug was used as the family's wedding rug, meaning the bride and groom stood on the rug where the diamond designs are woven. 

"Hassan" is a common Pakistani name meaning "beautiful, improver" in Arabic.

• To spot clean, always wipe with the direction of the weave. Never wipe back and forth.
